Pinot Grigio, Castel Ringberg 2023, Elena Walch
Vineyard details: Grown exclusively on the Vigna Castel Ringberg estate, on a south-facing hillside above the picturesque Lake of Caldaro, at an altitude of 1150 feet above sea level. Soils are morainic, of inter-glacial origin consisting of chalk and clay.
Vinification: Gentle pressing, followed by static clarification. A part ferments in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperature (20°C). 15% of the must ferments in French oak barriques (Allier) followed by partial malolactic fermentation. The blending occurs shortly before bottling in springtime the following year.
Tasting notes: Light, clear straw yellow characterizes our Pinot Grigio “Vigna Castel Ringberg”. Ripe aromas of fruit, especially ripe pear, and some sage and spicy notes give distinction to the multifaceted bouquet. Elegance and harmony dominate on the palate, combined with an elegant acidity, contagious freshness and creamy fullness and concentration. The wine continues with minerals and juiciness and a long, fresh finish.
